3F8 MAb for Neuroblastoma

In December 2007, we entered into an agreement with Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) to exclusively license certain rights to an investigational monoclonal antibody, 3F8, for the treatment of neuroblastoma. The monoclonal antibody 3F8 is a mouse IgG3 MAb which is currently used in an investigational setting for the treatment of neuroblastoma, a rare cancer of the sympathetic nervous system mainly affecting children. It is the most common extracranical solid cancer in children and most common cancer in infants. More than 700 patients have been treated with the 3F8 antibody since 1987 under investigator-initiated Investigational New Drug applications (INDs). There are fewer than 1,000 new cases of neuroblastoma diagnosed each year. We have received orphan designation in the US and a positive opinion from COMP (committee on orphan medicinal products) in the EU for the use of MAb-3F8 in neuroblastoma. In addition, we plan to conduct a randomized study of MAb-3F8 in primary refractory neuroblastoma in late summer, early fall.  For more information on our clinical trial of 3F8 for neuroblastoma, please click here.
