Oral Trepostinil for PVD

United Therapeutics has studied the treprostinil molecule for more than 10 years in peripheral ischemic conditions such as peripheral arterial disease, critical limb ischemia, and digital ulcers associated with systemic sclerosis (scleroderma). Promising results have been described in a number of publications and presentations. We recently studied the effect of oral treprostinil (UT-15C) on net ulcer burden in a large Phase 2 trial in patients with scleroderma. Although the results of this trial did not achieve statistical significance for its primary endpoint, additional analyses are ongoing and will be presented and/or published at a later date.
