Role Purpose/Position Overview

The Regional Clinical Specialist is the key resource for the Commercial Sales Team to help ensure that physicians, nurses and other allied healthcare professionals are sufficiently educated and trained on the safe and effective use of the Company’s commercially sold products, to include but may not always be limited to, Treprostinil-based therapies.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Support prescribers, nurses and other allied healthcare professionals new to UT Product(s) with all aspects of the Product to include indications, dosing and adverse effect management. In addition, the support extends to practical guidance on appropriate Product administration techniques and follow up based on good clinical practice.
  • Coordinate and support UT Product Initiation/Referral process using Project Management or similar techniques to ensure Prescribers, supportive Health Care Professionals, Specialty Distributors and Company Sales Representatives work collaboratively to optimize drug therapy access, initiation and successful treatment outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Specialty Distributor Nurses and Pharmacists to ensure that patients treated with UT Products by prescribers with little or limited UT Product experience are started and managed appropriately for successful clinical outcomes.
  • Ensure that all Health Care Professionals experienced in UT Product therapy are current on the latest techniques in regards to UT Product initiation, adverse effect mitigation, device administration and appropriate dosing management.
  • Act as a resource to Health Care Professionals in reference to UT Product practical issues such as infusion pump options, adverse effect management (such as infusion site pain management) within the guidelines of product labeling and UT company policies.
  • Work in collaboration with Company Sales Teams to provide ongoing support at local patient support groups and PEER related functions.
  • Provide training and education to Specialty Pharmacy Service Providers at the local level, and under the direction of the Clinical Product Training Director, Trade Relations at the national level.
  • Attend and participate in all pertinent clinical programs related to UT Product and disease state as available, relevant and as directed by their manager to maintain high level of competencies.

Perform other duties or support special projects as directed by their manager. 

Requirements

  • Minimum degree of RN or BSN required and Nursing License (active in at least one State, Multi-State preferred); Drivers License (current).
  • &5+ years working in the biotechnology/pharmaceutical/specialty pharmacy services and/or PAH Coordinator experience or PAH Clinical Practice experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Fluent English; Multi-lingual is a plus.
  • Ability to work as part of a larger team is required
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Project Management skills necessary
  • Strong teaching and presentation skills
  • Ability to travel extensively without restriction, approximately 80%
  • Position located in Home Office, major city within NY, NJ, PA, VT, NH, ME, MA, CT
