Role Purpose/Position Overview
The Research Associate will assist with the production of Transgenic Swine for multiple projects.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
- NT- Participate in all aspects of porcine nuclear transfer (cloning) including but not limited to: media preparation, oocyte maturation, oocyte micromanipulation, oocyte fusion and activaction, micromanipulation tool production and embryo culture.
- Cell Biology - Production and analysis of transgenic porcine cells. Tasks include primary cell isolation, cell culture, cell transfection, antibiotic selection, colony isolation, cryo-preservation, immunoflorescence. Flow Cytomerty experience a plus.
- General lab maintenance, supply and chemical inventory.
- Develops strong working relationships and works closely as needed with all functional areas of Revivicor, including but not limited to Senior Management, Project Leaders, Regulatory, and Safety.
- Follows cost efficient laboratory practices while maintaining a high level of productivity on scientific tasks. Quality of work has a major impact on departmental and company goals.
Requirements
- Proficiency in all aspects of cell culture, cell manipulation, primary cell growth and isolation, hands on embryology experience with emphasis on embryo micromanipulation
- Excellent oral, analytical and written communication skills.
- Works well in a team setting.
- Able to speak and write in English.
- Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time while in the lab setting.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time while performing microscope and other lab duties.
