Recruitment Fraud Warning

It has come to our attention that various individuals and organizations have contacted people offering false employment opportunities using the United Therapeutics name.

The fraud involves posting jobs that do not exist on external recruitment websites, interviewing people for these fake jobs, making job offers, and requesting personal information, including bank account details, and/or extorting fees for recruitment-related activities.

United Therapeutics posts all open positions on its careers page

If a job is not listed at this official webpage, you should be cautious as you are most likely a target of this fraud.

These scams are fraudulent and used as a means to steal from the applicant.

By making you aware of this conduct, we hope to help people avoid becoming victims of this scam.

We encourage everyone to be vigilant when interacting with online job boards and to not provide any personal or financial information or send money to anyone you suspect of recruitment fraud.

When responding to postings for employment with United Therapeutics, please keep in mind the following:

United Therapeutics never requires candidates to make financial payments or provide personal bank account information during the recruitment process.

If you receive a genuine offer of a job with United Therapeutics, whether the offer is made directly by the Company or through an agency, you will not be required to pay any money towards fees of any sort as a condition of receiving the offer or becoming employed.

United Therapeutics never offers candidates any form of payment before, during or after an interview other than expense reimbursement for travel for an interview for a live, in-person interview at one of our facilities.

If you receive such a check and it claims to be from United Therapeutics, please notify us and do not cash it as it is fraudulent.

The United Therapeutics talent acquisition team will never ask for personal identification such as your passport or social security number during the recruiting process.

That information would only be gathered after an applicant has accepted a formal offer of employment.

Following Are Helpful Tips On How to Identify Recruitment Fraud

  • The email does not come from an official unither.com email address and instead uses an address from a free email service such as: Gmail, Outlook.com, Live.com, Yahoo, AOL or a combination of these.

There is a fraudulent email address currently being used - @unither.careers – this is not a united therapeutics email address.

  • You are asked to interview over an instant messenger-type program, or application such as Wire or Google chat.

  • You are guaranteed a work-from-home position.

  • There are grammatical or spelling errors in the communication.

  • You are offered a check to process before being interviewed.

  • There is a request for personal information such as address details, date of birth, passport details, direct deposit and banking authorization, etc. early in the hiring process and before you have been properly (in person or via video conference) interviewed and received a formal job offer.

The perpetrators will often ask recipients to complete bogus recruitment documentation, such as application forms, terms and conditions of employment or visa forms which are intended to fraudulently obtain your personal information.

  • There is an insistence on urgency expressed by the person interacting with you.

  • The job you have been contacted about is not posted on the United Therapeutics official careers page, reached through www.unither.com.
